Ansel Adams is a fabulous photographer who in his early childhood went through some traumatic experiences including an earthquake and the loss of family fortune. He was also very shy, so shy that he had trouble staying in school so his father and aunt tutored him. Despite the fact that he had a lot of school work to do he taught himself to play piano and read music. He was quite the music geek even though he had dyslexia which caused a couple problems. When he grew up he gave up his occupation of being a musician to become a photographer. He loved to be outside and hike about and admire nature and in 1927 he took his first wonderful picture of the Face of half Dome. From there he kept on taking photos of landscapes that he found to be inspiring and to this day we are in awe of these miraculous shots.
The reason I chose the picture above was because it has so many eye pleasing aspects from the curvy river to the sharp snow dusted mountains. When I look at this picture in takes me back to a hike I took last summer, it makes me remember everything I was feeling at the time, all the smells and thoughts I was having. It was a super fun hike and therefore this particular picture gives me a positive reaction.
